How to determine the polarity of the battery

It is correct to determine the polarity when the terminals are closer to the body. If both terminals are turned towards themselves, and the plus is on the left, this is called direct polarity.

If both terminals are turned towards each other, and the plus is on the right, this is called reverse polarity.

If the battery is positioned with the terminals facing away from you, then when the positive terminal is on the left, this is called direct polarity.
